While fans may be eagerly anticipating the follow-up to Bastille’s hugely successful 2013 debut album Bad Blood, it seems only apt that they’ve teased listeners with a new track titled “Hangin“.
According to frontman Dan Smith, the track is simply a piece of music from the upcoming album and not the first official single.
The track features on the FIFA 16 soundtrack alongside other favourites such as Beck, Foals and of Monsters and Men – to name a few – and was released on the same day as the game.
The track marks a shift in the band’s sound. Given that no guitars were used in the making of their previous album, but never the type to shy away from experimenting, the guitar-driven “Hangin” takes Bastille into more rock territory. And much like their hugely successful “Pompeii“, “Hangin” too, boasts a huge sing-along chorus, anthemic hooks and massive production.
The band is yet to shed light on the title and release date of the upcoming album. In the mean time, you can listen to “Hangin” below:
