Both Shadowclub and Gangs of Ballet will be making their Kirstenbosch debut at the Summer Sunset Concert Series this Sunday, 24 March.
SAMA award winners Shadowclub, are known for their relentless touring schedule and bluesy rock ‘n roll. The band recorded their debut album in just 9 days to stellar reviews and in no time progressed up the charts and made a name for themselves alongside other top SA bands. Brace yourself for favourites such as Good Morning Killer, Lucy and Guns and Money as well as a few new tracks as the band are currently working towards their second studio album.
Gangs of Ballet’s rise to fame has come from nothing more than an EP. A stellar and powerful 5-track EP that put the Durban four-some on the map. Or should I say charts – as they too, are no stranger to the SA music charts. They’ve come a long way in little more than a year and given their popularity, it’s hard to believe that this will only be the third time they grace the Mother City with their live set. The band received international recognition for their track, Hello Sweet World which was used as the theme track of VH1′s Rehab With Dr Drew. Might I mention that the event is scheduled on the same evening as the MK Music Awards in Pretoria, of which Gangs of Ballet are nominated in the Best Live Act and Best New Comer categories.
Both bands are known for their authenticity and polished live performances so concert goers are in for one hell-of-a treat. I don’t imagine you could have anything better to do at the time.
