The Parlotones have been on the lineup of Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts for the past few years and come Sunday 13 January 2013, the band bid farewell to the Mother City with their final show on home soil. The band will be relocating to the U.S. later this month.
According to the band, South Africa will always be home and promise to return every few months for shows. Although The Parlotones are no strangers to the international market which saw them undertake numerous trips to the States and Europe over the past two years, being based in Los Angeles will allow them better access to the worlds biggest music market.
The band has just released a live recording of their rock theatre production ‘Dragonflies & Astronauts.’ A theatre production which was developed complete with storyline, sets and characters revolving around the greatest hits of The Parlotones. This includes 16 tracks that were top 40 hits in South Africa. The Parlotones made history as the first band in the world to broadcast a concert live in 3D across multiple platforms.
So, what better way to bid farewell than with one last performance.
