Last week The Gaslight Anthem released the music video for “Get Hurt“, the title track of their upcoming fifth studio album. This week they released the single for “Stay Vicious“, as well as a second music video – this time for “Rollin’ And Tumblin“.
The band have left the downtrodden bar of “Get Hurt”, and swapped the contorting patrons, peculiar characters and feathers for a group of elegant dancers in Day of the Dead makeup. On the dancers, not the band. The dancers are still rolling around in something, but it looks like rice instead of feathers. Once again it’s a performance video on a dimly light stage, apart from stage lighting, and in-keeping with what appears to be the music-video-look of 2014, it’s shot in black and white.
The track itself is energetic and powerful. Frontman Brian Fallon’s Fierce vocals, coupled with the track’s robust guitars, aptly pave the way for lyrics such as “I was born on the fourth of July, Exploding like a firework“.
The visuals create just the perfect amount of intensity for this. I like it!
Get Hurt is scheduled to be released on 11 August. Watch the video to “Rollin’ And Tumblin” below…
